Two People Injured Following Crash With Train In Gowrie

(Gowrie, IA) -- Two people are hospitalized following a crash with a Union Pacific train in Gowrie.

The Iowa State Patrol says 45-year-old Dirk Janssen and 62-year-old Mary Harrison were traveling eastbound when their vehicle was struck by a northbound train.

Harrison was airlifted to a Des Moines hospital. Janssen was transported to a local hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
