(Des Moines, IA) -- Central and Eastern Iowa are at an elevated risk for severe weather Tuesday.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Rod Donovan says the storms are forecasted for mid-afternoon and into the evening.
"We are expecting some of those storms to be strong to severe, again with the potential of some very large hail, some tornadoes and damaging wind gusts, " sais Donovan.
The storms could bring wind gusts of 60 to 70 miles an hour and the potential for baseball-sized hail.
Donovan says there's another chance for severe weather on Wednesday and again on Friday.
