(Cedar Falls, IA) -- For the first time in 20 years, the University of Northern Iowa is looking for a new men's basketball coach.

Ben Jacobson is leaving Cedar Falls to be the new head coach at Utah State. He takes over for Jerrod Calhoun, who's taking the head coaching job at Cincinnati.

He leaves UNI as winningest coach in the history of the men's basketball program with 397 wins--220 of them in the Missouri Valley Conference.

In his two decades as head coach, Jacobson took the Panthers to five NCAA tournaments--including this year's, where they lost to St. John's 79-53 in the East Region's first round. He's also won four regular season conference championships and five MVC Tournament titles.

Jacobson's been at UNI since 2001, when he joined former head coach Gregg McDermott's staff.

UNI Athletics Director Megan Franklin says the search for a new head coach is underway.
