(Iowa) -- More Iowa National Guard troops have returned home from the Middle East.
Just over 200 Iowa soldiers arrived back in the U. S. on Thursday and Friday, according to Guard spokeswoman Jackie Schmillen.
The soldiers have been stationed in Iraq and Syria in an effort to combat ISIS. They were assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division.
Two welcome home ceremonies are being planned in Cedar Rapids.
More than 500 Iowa National Guard soldiers remain deployed in the Middle East.
