(Iowa) -- A new national study finds energy prices are rising less in Iowa than in most other states.

Insurance comparison site iSelect examined data from the U.S. Energy Affordability Index on energy costs since 2019. Iowa ranked 43rd on the list of 48 states where energy prices have risen during that time, with an increase of 5.4%. On average, Iowans are spending 1.8% of their monthly income on electricity bills. The study finds the average monthly electricity bill in Iowa is $110 a month compared to an average monthly income of $5.953.

Two states, North Dakota and Nebraska, have seen energy prices decrease since 2019, down 2.8% and 4.9% respectively.
