(Des Moines, IA) -- A bill that would freeze tuition at Iowa’s public universities until 2031 has passed the Iowa House.

House File 2242 would lock in the current tuition rates for five years at the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, and the University of Northern Iowa.

The proposal now heads to the Senate for consideration.
