(Iowa City, IA) -- Iowans can now zoom in on cancer patterns in their own zip code. A new online database from University of Iowa researchers estimates local rates for eight types of cancer. Those cancers are colorectal, breast, prostate, lung, liver, cervical, non-hodgkins lymphoma and melanoma. Iowa ranks second nationally for age-adjusted cancer rates. The database search does not give reasons for the increased rates. The numbers often increased near larger cities.
