Central Iowa Blues Society Hosts 31rst Winter Blues Fest This Week

(Des Moines, IA) -- Twenty live bands from around the country will converge on Des Moines this weekend for the 31rst Annual Winter Blues Fest.

Scott Allen, President of the Central Iowa Blues Society expects 3,500 people from across the country to attend the two-day event, which starts Friday night at the Downtown Marriott Hotel.

"The line-up we put together is good as any line-up of any Bluesfest you would attend anywhere. We have bands from all over the country, nationally touring bands, we have regional bands and local bands," Allen said.

One of the rooms is dedicated to all Iowa musicians, including Heath Alan's Iowa Blues Expo, Bob Pace's Blues Hall of Fame Showcase and the Other Brothers, who won the band competition for the Iowa Blues Challenge.

Also performing are the Weary Ramblers of Iowa, who won the 2026 International Blues Challenge.
