(Iowa) -- A new study finds roughly one in five Iowa adults do no physical activity outside of work.
The United Health Foundation examined data from across the country looking at the percentage of adults who report doing no physical activity outside of their job in the past 30 days. In Iowa, 21.8% of adults say they get no physical activity outside of work. The data find the percentage of women under age 65 reporting no physical activity outside of work is about the same at 21.4%. Iowa seniors are even less active, with 32.6% reporting being sedentary outside of work in the last 30 days.
Iowa ranks 25th out of 49 states for most physical activity, with no data reported for Tennessee. Colorado and Vermont took the top two spots on the list of most active states, respectively, with West Virginia and Mississippi taking the bottom to spots on the list. The full breakdown is available at the United Health Foundation's website.
