(Undated) -- Iowa and Nebraska are among a group of 24 states asking the U.S. Supreme Court to uphold an executive order on birthright citizenship.
President Trump signed the order on his first day in office, stating that a baby born on U.S. soil does not receive citizenship if the parents are not citizens or are only in the country temporarily.
The U.S. Supreme Court recently decided to allow the executive order to go into effect while it considers the question of its constitutionality.
