400 new jobs are coming to Ankeny.
JBS USA has reached an agreement to purchase a former Hy-Vee production facility in Ankeny, with plans to build a bacon and sausage plant.
The 186,000 square-foot facility previously produced Mealtime items, sandwiches, salads, bakery items and take-and-bake pizzas for Hy-Vee.
JBS says it will be open in mid-2026.
In a statement, JBS CEO Wesley Batista Fihlo said:
Today’s announcement aligns with our long-term strategy of offering more value-added and prepared foods products to meet the needs of our customers and consumers. We are proud to grow our operations in Iowa, where we already operate four production facilities, with another expected to break ground later this year.
