(Iowa) -- Iowans will be able to save on back-to-school shopping for certain items starting tomorrow as part of the annual back-to-school tax holiday.

The annual tax holiday is always the first Friday and Saturday in August, which this year is August 1st and 2nd. All businesses open during that time are required to participate, and deals also apply to online shopping, as long as the qualifying items are ordered and paid for during the tax holiday period. Purchases made on Sunday will not qualify for the tax holiday.

Generally, clothing or footwear items that are under $100 dollars will qualify, and shoppers will not have to pay the state sales tax of 7% in most areas or 6% in certain areas.

The full list of qualifying items is available on the Iowa Department of revenue's website.
