(Des Moines, IA) -- Local residents opposed to the U.S. bombing in Iran protested in downtown Des Moines.
The Party for Socialism and Liberation hosted the "No War on Iran" rally outside the Neal Smith Federal Building on Sunday evening. The protest comes after the U.S. launched airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities this weekend.
Protesters expressed concern that the bombings will escalate U.S. involvement in the Middle East. Some said the money would be better spent on health care and housing in the U.S.
Similar protests were held around the country on Sunday.
