(Des Moines, IA) - Conservation efforts continue with the birth of an addax calf at the Blank Park Zoo.

The zoo announced that Henri was born as part of efforts to help restore the population of one of the world’s most endangered species of antelope. Due to illegal poaching and habitat destruction, there are fewer than 100 addax antelope left in the wild.

Henri is the second addax calf to be born at the Blank Park Zoo in the past two years.
