(DES MOINES, IA) -- Central Iowa Water Works says metro area splash pads and spraygrounds may reopen, despite ongoing water conservation measures.
The water authority says these facilities use a small amount of water compared to lawn watering, which remains banned due to high nitrate levels. Drinking water continues to meet EPA standards as nitrate removal efforts continue.
Des Moines officials say spraygrounds will reopen with reduced hours starting Thursday.
