The Ames Animal Shelter is holding a no-cost microchip and vaccination clinic next month.

The shelter will provide vaccines for rabies for cats and dogs, as well as kennel cough for dogs. The microchips and vaccinations are at no cost to participants thanks to a sponsorship from Bailing Out Benji.

The drive-up clinic will take place on Saturday, May 3 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Ames Water Plant. Owners will remain in their vehicles while animals are taking to microchip implant and vaccination stations, and then back to the vehicle. There's a limit of three animals per address.

Ames residents can sign up for an appointment till April 19. After that, remaining spots will be open to the rest of the public.

Those interested can submit an appointment request at www.CityofAmes.org/Clinic.
