(Des Moines, IA) -- An Iowa lawmaker is introducing a bill that would reinstate a moratorium on new gaming licenses in the state.
Lee County Republican State Senator Jeff Reichman's bill would ban new gaming licenses in Iowa until mid-2030.
The move comes just ahead of this morning's Racing & Gaming Commission hearing on a petition from groups opposing a casino license for Linn County.
Opponents claim a Cedar Rapids casino will cannibalize their gaming revenue.
