(Middletown, IA) -- An investigation is underway after an explosion at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant near Burlington in southeast Iowa.
The explosion was reported around 9:30 Wednesday morning in the ammunition production area. No one was hurt, and in a post on social media, the plant said its safety protocols proved effective. The Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown produces medium and large caliber munitions.
