Residents and celebrities were forced to evacuate after three life-threatening fires raced across Los Angeles County, the largest of which occurred in the Pacific Palisades, CNN reports.

More than 30,000 residents in the Los Angeles area were under evacuation orders, with several million-dollar mansions in the celebrity enclave of the Pacific Palisades, as well as landmark institutions and popular restaurants being affected, as it burned more than 2,900 acres. "Tornado-like" winds were reported to reach 100 MPH, the highest Los Angeles has seen in more than a decade, which resulted in whipped up debris and fire embers traveling more than a mile prior to the large inferno, as well as the area being blanketed by heavy smoke.

Two other fires were reported in Los Angeles County: a 500-acre Hurst fire north of San Fernando, and a 1,000-acre Eaton fire in Altadena. More than 200,00 homes and buildings were reported to have lost power in Los Angeles County amid the wildfires, according to CNN.

Several notable residents of the Pacific Palisades include actress Reese Witherspoon and actors Chris Pratt and Miles Teller, among others. The Calabasas and Pasadena areas, which were also affected by the wildfires, are the home to many other celebrities including the Kardashians.
