(Undated) -- This week's U-S Drought Monitor shows very little improvement in Iowa's drought picture. Nearly all of the state is in drought or near-drought. Sixty-percent of the state is moderate drought. The only area that is drought free is a section of south central and southern Iowa. That area has expanded in the past week a long with a small area in far northeast Iowa.
The National Weather Service is predicting warmer weather starting this Fri day into the weekend, with highs in the 50’s Saturday/Sunday. Colder weather and gusty winds to return early next week. Dry conditions to prevail through the entire period.
