(Des Moines, IA) -- A major Des Moines landmark is set to undergo a naming change next year. Wells Fargo Arena will be renamed the "Casey's Center" starting in July. The change comes as the 20-year run of naming rights for Wells Fargo is expiring.

Polk County Supervisor Angela Connolly spoke to the crowd at Monday's unveiling, saying that since Wells Fargo was unable to move forward with naming rights, a replacement was sought, one that makes people's live better

"We found in our new partner, one with a deep history," Connolly said, "one that has a loyal following with their customers and one that is ingrained in communities across the state and beyond."

Wells Fargo Arena first opened in July of 2005. The arena hosts countless concerts each year, along with events including rodeos, and ice hockey. Many Iowans will recognize the arena as host to the annual Iowa High School Athletic Association Boys and and Girls Basketball tournaments, held each March, along with the state wrestling tournaments.
