DES MOINES, Iowa -- Some near-drought conditions are creeping back into Iowa.
The new U-S Drought Monitor Map shows a narrow band of abnormally dry conditions across six counties of far Southwest Iowa.
That near-drought area goes south across all of Western Missouri.
Iowa had been drought free for weeks after excessive rain that fell this spring and early summer.
