Another Case Of Avian Influenza Detected In A Sioux County Dairy Herd

(Des Moines, IA) -- Another case of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza has been detected in a Sioux County dairy herd.

The Iowa Department of Agriculture says to date, there have been 11-detections of bird flu in Iowa dairy herds.

There have been three cases in poultry so far this year.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds issued a disaster relief proclamation to assist with tracking, monitoring, and containment efforts in Sioux city.

There is currently no immediate public heath concerns from the bird flu.

Poultry producers and dairy farmers are urged to monitor their herds for signs and sickness.
