Google Seeks State Incentives For New Cedar Rapids Data Center

(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The Iowa Economic Development Authority board will review a request for state financial incentives from Google this morning.

Google is looking for tax breaks to build a new $576 million dollar data center in southwest Cedar Rapids.

Cedar Rapids City Council approved city tax incentives and a development agreement for the data center last month

If the Development Authority approves Google's request, construction could begin as soon June 1st.
