(Des Moines, IA) -- The Iowa State Fair starts Thursday, August 11th, and one of the state fair booths will help Iowans stay prepared for November.
Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate's annual state fair booth will offer a voter registration drive and a straw poll.
"I'm inviting every fairgoer to participate in the State Fair Straw Poll," says Secretary Pate in a press release. "It’s a fun way to prepare Iowans ahead of the 2022 general election to see which candidates they prefer. Visiting the fair is also a great opportunity for Iowans to enjoy the butter cow, eat some Brown-Sugar Pork Belly on a Stick, and swing by our booth in the Varied Industries Building to register to vote."
The Iowa League of Heroes will also be stopping by the booth Saturday, August 13th from 2-4 pm. Business startup information, provided by Iowa's Small Business Development Centers (SBDC), will be available at the booth as well.

"America’s Small Business Development Centers Iowa will have staff available to answer questions that Iowa’s businesses and entrepreneurs may have. Secretary Pate's booth, #273, is located in the northwest section of the Varied Industries Building, It will be open for the entirety of the Iowa State Fair.
