As it has been said "The times they are a changin' that even holds true for our beloved State Fair. Now every entrance will be equipped with a metal detector you must pass through so leave your guns and long knives at home. They have assured us that the 3 inch pocket knives that every farm boy has will not be confiscated, that should make for another great year for the whittling contest. Masks will be required at all indoor venues but you can remove it while strolling and taking in the fragrance of livestock. As far as the Grand Stand shows masks may be optional. The Fair will still be as great as it ever was, I just hope with the thousands of people who attend it won't become a super spreader, as always the weekends will be most crowded often exceeding 100,000 people.
