Of all holidays to celebrate April Fools was my mother's favorite. From sun up to sundown she was always planning little tricks she could pull to put us on edge. They were simple and harmless but kept us on our toes and caused uncontrollable laughter. We older siblings would anxiously await while the younger one's fell prey to her inventive traps, many of which she pulled on the grandchildren later. While many look at this as a day of pranks, I observe it as a kind of first Mothers Day and remember that wicked little laugh that filled our home.
