There are times when the world seems a little emptier than it was, it's lacking the laughter and joyful noise of kids playing. Granted my neighborhood skews to a more mature group of inhabitants and the kids whose sounds filled the air have kids of their own. The elementary school a few blocks away has been converted to luxury condos eliminating the wondrous sounds of recess. There is something therapeutic about the sounds of children enjoying life and lacking the stress that will come soon enough. It's one of many things we took for granted, you know background noise of pure fun and discovery. It's just one more case of "You don't know what you've got until it's gone".
