It seems every year we Iowans are taunted by hints of spring through snow melt and warmer temperatures. We seem to forget this is a yearly ordeal as we begin looking through seed catalogues, restringing our fishing equipment and cleaning our golf clubs. Deep in our conscience we know there's another winter blast coming just to reinforce who is in charge. Have I learned my lesson? Of course not, I'm heading out to clean and start my motorcycle and check that all is ready for me to put the top down on my convertible. Does it indicate I'm an optimist as I stare at our patio umbrella or is this just proof again I've forgotten to put it away. Whatever comes along, I'll be "Iowa Ready"!
