In weather like this I don't even want to go out and when I do it's to a warmed up car and probably 30 feet of exposure. This Morning I spoke to our local director of the homeless shelter and the number of people they are trying to help, from individuals to full families. They have made a concerted effort to make this more than a temporary cure but more the opportunity to get them on the road to recovery. It's important to remember that homelessness is a year round problem not just the cold month's. I was raised under the idea that these are lazy irresponsible people who have chosen their fate but I assure you most are not and only seek a chance and some guidance to get them on track. They seek not your pity but more your understanding of their plight.
