DES MOINES, Iowa - There are now 13 cases of Coronavirus in Iowa, and 27 more tests pending, including 18 Iowans from that cruise ship that came ashore in California.

"We're bringing the people home that've been on the cruise." Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds KASI Radio News. "We'll do an assessment when they leave, an assessment when they're here

Reynolds is clear on how we stop the spread of coronavirus.

"It is this simple. If you are sick, stay home." Reynolds says. "If you have a cough, a fever, respiratory issues, stay home!"

"If you think you are experiencing some of the symptoms and you're unsure, please don't go to the clinic." Reynolds says. "Pick up the phone, call the ER or clinic, and they will do an assessment over the phone."

Reynolds says the doctor's office will arrange for testing if they feel it is needed.

Symptoms of coronavirus, COVID-19 are pretty similar to symptoms of a cold or the flu. Common symptoms of coronavirus are cough, fever, and lower respiratory illness such as shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.

Two key factors in determining need for testing, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, is travel outside the United States, or close contact with someone who has coronavirus.
