WHO YOU REALLY ARE

The generation I grew up in was rife with racism, discrimination, homophobia and a lack of understanding of those that were mentally and physically challenged. There are many things all of us have done that if it were today we would never consider. Life is a constant evolution of thoughts and perspectives and hopefully we learn and grow to be better people each day. My PC crimes from yesteryear are many and no apologies are forthcoming it was the time that I grew up in, am I proud of some of those things, no, but as life continues I learn and hopefully are a more compassionate and understanding person than I was so many years ago. It is in this effort that I believe,”Don’t judge people for what they were years ago but through life’s lessons have become today.”
