ISU Police mourns officer

The Iowa State University Police Department is mourning the death of one of it's own.  The department said Monday via social media that Officer Scott Lindley, 25, of Ankeny died "unexpectedly" on January 2nd. Lindley was a Community Service Officer while enrolled at Iowa State. He graduated in December, 2017 and days later was sworn in as an officer with the department.  ISU Police Chief Michael Newton tells the Ames Tribune he won't discuss details of Lindley’s death at the request of his family. Lindley was also a member of the Iowa National Guard. He served in Afghanistan in 2013.
