Ames Library Board to re-start director search

The Ames Public Library's going back to square one in the search for a new director.  The city says the library's Board of Trustees had began negotiations with a selected candidate, who withdrew over the weekend citing family considerations. Board chair Charles Glatz says while it's unfortunate they were unable to name one of three finalists the next library director, they look forward to the next steps in the search process. The library board will meet in the coming weeks to discuss its options to continue the search. Current director Lynne Carey plans to retire next year after more than 30 years with the library.
