MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa - 60 houses and other buildings in Marshalltown have been declared unsafe after extensive tornado damage on July 19.

The Marshalltown Times Republican Newspaper reports the city has put red posters on dozens of  buildings after engineers determined they are a danger.

About 2,000 homes, businesses, and other buildings had varying degrees of damage after the tornado.

Some of the 60 may have to be demolished if they can't be brought back to safe condition.
