The City of Ames will treat wastewater trucked over from an expanded Burke Corporation manufacturing facility in Nevada. The Ames City Council approved a plan to have Ames treat the water until the City of Nevada can increase the size of it's treatment plant. Ames Water and Pollution Control Director John Dunn says they can handle increased wastewater coming into, and going out of the plant. Nevada mayor Brett Barker says his city appreciates the assist that allows their largest employer to expand it's operations. Burke's $150-million project will double the size of it's facility and create 210 new jobs.
