The Federal Emergency Management Agency is denying Iowa's request for help to Iowans who were impacted by heavy rains and flooding from June 6th through July 2nd. FEMA was sent the request on August 1st to cover flooding and severe weather...including the flash flooding in Des Moines and Ames. In its denial, FEMA said the impact from the storms wasn't severe enough to provide individual assistance. Iowa has 30 days to file an appeal.
