Iowa Supreme court hears voter ID law challenge

The Iowa Supreme Court held an emergency hearing yesterday as the state asked justices to invalidate an injunction that blocks the implementation of absentee voting rules.  The League of United Latin American Citizens of Iowa attorney Bruce Spiva says the injunction was requested largely because the voter ID law harms Latino Iowans who vote via absentee ballot. Assistant Iowa Attorney General Thomas Ogden says there's no harm to voters, as they still can vote at the polls. The state's asking the injunction be voided after the September elections.  The justices plan a quick response.
