Street improvement work will close S. Duff Ave. from Jewel Dr. to Ken Maril Rd. The City of Ames says motorists will follow a marked detour. Neighborhood traffic will use Crystal St. for access to S. Duff. The project will widen the street to three lanes, build a shared use path from Ken Maril Rd. to Kitty Hawk Dr., and install a traffic signal at Crystal St. The city says S. Duff will be closed through Aug. 30th. After it reopens, construction will continue adjacent to the street. Traffic light installation will be in one of the later phases. The entire project is anticipated to be completed by early spring.
