Ames' mayor calls Tuesday's overnight RAGBRAI stop a long time coming. John Haila says a lot of work from the city, Iowa State University, and the Ames Convention and Visitors Bureau went into planning the event since it was announced six months ago. He says it was also a good chance to show off the city. It was the fourth time RAGBRAI spent the night in Ames.
