This year's edition of RAGBRAI is underway. Riders covered the 43 miles opening journey Sunday from Onawa to Denison. They'll make the nearly 72 mile trek Monday from Denison to Jefferson. Riders will spend the night Tuesday in Ames, leaving Wednesday for Newton. Meantime, the Iowa State Patrol says it appears someone scattered nails along the RAGBRAI route. The patrol posted pictures on Twitter Sunday of some of those nails on Highways 37 and 183. The state patrol then began work to make sure the nails didn't affect any of the riders.
