A dozen historic biplanes are the centerpiece of this year's American Barnstormers tour as it stops in Ames starting Sunday. The 12 "Travel Air" models represent a historic connection to three early giants of aviation. The founders of "Travel Air" went on to become part of Boeing, Cessna and Beechcraft. "Ride experiences" are being offered for 80 dollars and the planes' owners will also be on hand to answer questions about the historic biplanes. The American Barnstormers tour runs from Sunday to Tuesday at the Ames Municipal Airport.
