The public has a pair of opportunities Thursday to get answers about RAGBRAI's overnight stop in Ames next month. Ames Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Julie Weeks says town hall meetings will be held at 1:00 and 6:00 p.m. in the council chambers of City Hall. She says the meeting will provide an overview of the event, the route through Ames, entertainment and activities, and volunteer opportunities. Weeks says RAGBRAI organizers expect the Ames stop to be the largest on this year's route with more than 10,000 registered riders, cyclists who are riding part of the route, and visitors. RAGBRAI's overnight stop in Ames is July 25th.
