A conservative Iowa religious leader is ripping President Trump's policy of separating migrant families at the Mexican border. The Family Leader CEO Bob Vander Plaats says in an opinion piece in the New York Times that "cruelty is not justice" and says Trump, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and Congress need to fix the zero-tolerance policy. In the piece, Vander Plaats also says it is possible to be tough on illegal immigration without being cruel to those trying to enter the country illegally. The federal government says almost 2,000 children were taken from more than 1,900 adults at the border from mid-April to the end of May.
