A Nevada woman is dead after a crash in Boone County early Sunday morning. The Iowa State Patrol says Alyssa August, 26, died after the car she was in was hit by a pickup that failed to stop at the intersection of 280th St. and Hwy. 169 north of Ogden. The patrol says August wasn't wearing a seat belt. The driver of the car, Phillip Fleming, 27, also of Nevada, was airlifed to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. The driver of the pickup, Jordan Ihel, 24, of Polk City, was not injured. No charges have been filed in connection with the crash.
