County prepares for primary election

With preparations underway for Tuesday's primary election in Iowa, Story County Auditor and Election Commission Lucy Martin says her office is still working out some bugs in implementing the state's voter ID law.  She says a series of county bond issues and special elections earlier this year highlighted challenges in the new system--including voters who don't bring ID with them to the polls.  For 2018 only, Martin says registered voters without ID will be allowed to sign an oath in lieu of ID.  A driver’s license, non-driver’s ID, passport, military ID, veterans ID, or voter ID card are all valid form of identification that can be used when voting.
