Bierbaum appointed to Ames School Board

The Ames School Board is at full strength after the appointment of a new member Monday night.  Allen Bierbaum was chosen from a field of nine applicants to fill the seat left by this month's resignation of director Rodney Briggs.  Bierbaum's lived in Ames since 1994, and is currently the chief technology officer for a local software firm. He has three children in the district. Bierbaum and the eight other applicants, including former school board member John Hascall, introduced themselves to the board and answered a series of questions before last night's selection.  Applicant Jingtao Wang took herself out of consideration before Monday's meeting.  Bierbaum will serve until November, 2019--the rest of Brigg's term.
