I have a very special day coming up and I look forward to it every year, I broadcast from Special Olympics Iowa's Summer Games. I have the opportunity to speak with athletes, volunteers, coaches, parents, siblings and administration. It's such an emotional fulfilling time where I am once again reminded of the great strides taken to demonstrate what true struggle, determination and dedication is. That the most important thing is the ability to compete rather than win, that disabilities can be conquered by abilities and the simplest gestures mean so much. That pity and sympathy has been replaced by respect and admiration and finally that an individuals hug is the most priceless thing I will ever receive. I LOVE SPECIAL OLYMPICS IOWA!
