ISU sexual assault suit settled

A woman who accused Iowa State University of turning a blind eye to her sexual assault report has reached a settlement with the school.  Taylor Niesen's lawsuit ended Monday with a settlement just over $47,000.  Niesen left Iowa State after the January, 2015 assault.  She accused a fraternity member of the assault, but no criminal charges were filed.  Niesen's attorney says the settlement might have been higher if they'd not been satisfied that ISU was taking action to correct its handling of sexual assault cases.
