For a second week in a row, Ames has the most expensive gasoline in the state of Iowa. Triple A says the average local price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $2.75-cents--$.06 above the state average of $2.69. Ames isn't alone in with state's spendiest gas--Des Moines, Dubuque and Iowa City have the same price. That $2.69 average is a couple of cents more expensive from a week ago, but $.12 below the national average price of $2.81 a gallon. Iowa's cheapest gas is in Sioux City at $2.59 for a gallon of regular unleaded.
